BMW 3 series E46

1 Mark a paint position of a corresponding back wheel concerning a nave. It will allow to establish at assemblage отбалансированное a wheel in its former position. Loosen the bolts of fastening of a wheel at the car standing on the earth. Lift a back part of the car, put it on supports and remove a back wheel.
2 Remove a power shaft, address to corresponding section.
3 Remove facing of a fuel tank in a back part.
4 Disconnect the stabilizer of cross-section stability on the corresponding party.

5 Disconnect the holder of a brake hose from the longitudinal lever. It is impossible to subject a brake hose to stretching loading.

6 Prop up the bottom cross-section lever-4 garage lift, thus enclose a wooden lining.

If this condition is not observed, the suspension bracket after a shock-absorber detachment falls downwards.

7 Disconnect the shock-absorber-1 from the holder of a wheel. Note position of both washers for the subsequent correct installation. The persistent washer shows-3 rubber support towards a head of a bolt-2.
8 Lower the garage lift.

9 Wring out a wheel suspension bracket downwards and take out a spring-1 aside.

10 Check up linings of springs above and below on presence of damages, if necessary replace. Thus the top lining of a spring before installation grease with means for sliding, for example, soap or paste for installation of tyres.
11 Wring out a suspension bracket downwards and insert a spring.
12 raise the bottom lever the garage lift a little.
13 Fix the shock-absorber below, without tightening while a fastening nut. Do not forget to put thus a washer from both parties of fastening of the shock-absorber. The persistent washer of a rubber support should show towards a bolt head.
14 Take away the lift.
15 Fix the holder of a brake hose at the longitudinal lever.

Thus the brake hose should not be exposed to stretching loadings.

16 Fix the stabilizer on the corresponding party of the car.
17 Establish a power shaft, address to corresponding section.
18 Establish into place a back wheel so that the marks put at removal have coincided. Preliminary grease with a thin layer подшипниковой greasings aligning belt of a disk of a wheel on a nave. Bolts of fastening of a wheel do not grease. Rusty bolts replace. Wrap bolts. Lower the car on wheels and tighten bolts cross-wise the moment 100 Н•м.
19 In an empty condition of the car tighten a bolt of fastening of the shock-absorber the moment 100 Н•м, address to Section Removal and installation of the back shock-absorber.
20 Fix facing of a fuel tank in a back part.
