Check of level of electrolit (at the batteries demanding service)
If the storage battery not firms BMW it is a question, as a rule, about so-called малообслуживаемой to the battery is bought. In this case, if electrolit level falls below mark MIN, it is required to add one-two time in a year the distilled water. All sections of the battery should have the identical level of electrolit which are between marks MAX and MIN.
Electrolit level is checked necessarily outside. If it is impossible to make it, remove carving covers and glance in section from above. Electrolit level should be on 5 mm above lead plates.
Check of density of electrolit
The electrolit density in a combination to pressure of the battery provides guidance on degrees заряженности batteries.
The electrolit temperature at measurement should not be more low +10°С.
1 Switch off ignition.

5 Consistently check up each section of the battery. All sections should have identical density (the maximum difference of 0.04 g/ml). The big difference specifies in battery damage.
Check of pressure of rest of the battery
The condition of the storage battery is checked by measurement by the pressure voltmeter between battery poles.
6 Disconnect battery poles, address to Section Removal and installation of the storage battery.
7 Battery should be disconnected for 2 hours prior to check.
9 Estimation of results of measurement:
12.5 In or above - the battery in a satisfactory condition
12.4 In or more low - the battery in an unsatisfactory condition, is required a gymnastics or battery replacement
10 Attach a negative cable (-) to the battery, address to Section Removal and installation of the storage battery.
Check of pressure of the battery under loading
11 Attach the voltmeter to battery poles.
12 Ask the assistant to start the engine and consider thus pressure.
13 In the course of start at full gymnastics of the battery pressure should not fall more low 10 In (at electrolit temperature nearby +20°С).
14 If pressure falls at once also electrolit density in sections is various, the battery is damaged.
