Removal and installation of the gauge of oxygen

At car BMW of 3rd series oxygen gauges are located before and after каталитического the converter to provide the control of cleanliness of the fulfilled gases.

Connecting cables of gauges of oxygen are not under repair and are not soldered. In the presence of damages the cable is replaced in the complete set.


 REMOVAL

Operation of lifting and car installation on supports is connected with danger! Therefore before operation carrying out familiarise with Razdelom Poddomkrachivanie and towage

1 Lift and establish the car on supports.
2 Models 316i, 318i: Расстыкуйте a socket-3 gauges of oxygen also turn out the gauge-4 of a reception pipe.

3 Models 320i, 323i, 328i: Расстыкуйте штекерные connections of gauges of oxygen (two arrows on the right on an illustration).

Mark tips not to mix them at assemblage. Uncover the engine to open tips, address to Section Removal and installation of the bottom cover of an impellent compartment.

4 Disconnect the holder of a cable (the left arrow). Turn out gauges of oxygen from a reception pipe. It is for this purpose necessary накидной a key, for example, HAZET 468/4.


 INSTALLATION

Do not clear the gauge of oxygen around top and do not suppose contact to greasing. At sheeting drawing on the bottom gauges close.

5 Cover a carving of the gauge of oxygen with special high-temperature greasing “Nevar seez Compound”.

If the oxygen gauge is rolled without high-temperature greasing, the carving burns in due course also the gauge it is impossible to turn out. New gauges have a corresponding covering.

6 Screw the oxygen gauge in a reception pipe and tighten the moment 55 Н•м.
7 Lay an electric wire so that it did not fray and did not concern release systems.
8 Establish an engine cover.
